The West Midlands Academic Health Science Network (WMAHSN) has launched a new podcast exploring the impact of human factors in key areas of healthcare.
The podcast, called All Systems Ergo, will see human factors specialists from around the world share their experience of incorporating human factors into their field of work and the impact it has had to support patient outcomes and improve care.
Hosted by Fran Ives, Chartered Human Factors Specialist, the bi-weekly podcast will discuss a number of key human factors topics including transportation, patient safety and product design, as well as personal stories of industry professionals’ inspiring career journeys.
The first episode, which airs on Friday 28 April, features guest Steve Shorrock, Chartered Psychologist and Chartered Ergonomics and Human Factors Specialist. In the episode, Steve will discuss how we can leverage experiences from transportation to improve care.
Fran Ives, Chartered Human Factors Specialist and host of All Systems Ergo, said: “We’re so pleased to be launching this exciting new podcast to highlight the importance of human factors in healthcare. This platform will enable us to share crucial information and knowledge from around the world to support listeners on their own journey of adopting human factors processes to protect the safety of both patients and doctors.
“Over the past 12 months, the WMAHSN has seen growing industry interest in the discipline, alongside our own work to integrate human factors processes into our own projects and programmes.
“We hope this podcast will help the healthcare sector by bringing the human factors conversation to the forefront, giving listeners practical insights from our guests to inspire others to take the next step on their own journey of integrating human factors into their work.”
The podcast series will be available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music and wherever you get your podcasts, with the first episode launching on Friday 28 April.
